Priscilla Queen of the Desert

The camp classic Priscilla Queen of the Desert is opening in the West End’s Palace Theatre on the 23rd March 2009. However there will be previews on the 10th March. The musical has generated quite a buzz as it approaches issues facing the gay world and for incorporating an Aboriginal tribe into the production. The merging of these two groups that are often left on the outskirts of Australia society is a cleverly conscious decision.

Due to this the production has created a significant cultural impact on the Australia theatre scene. It is considered to be a new cult classic. The production at the Palace Theatre is set to include Jason Donovan as its star. However, the cast for the production is subject to change therefore nothing is yet guaranteed. The stage adaptation was made from the Oscar winning comedy film from 1994, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

The musical is expected to generate the same feelings on the West End and create the same impact upon the gay world. The camp classic is expected to sell out fast as the musical about three drag queens and their journey across Australia in which they find love and friendship is sure to be a sell out show night after night! Priscilla Queen of the Desert tickets are still available so don't hesitate to book your and enjoys a great night at the theatre.
